Christian In Action Ministries exists to demonstrate the love of Christ through active evangelism, discipleship and compassionate service to communities in need.

Our Story

Christians In Action Ministries was founded with a deep conviction that faith must be expressed through action. Born out of a desire to bring the transformative power of the Gospel to underserved communities in Liberia, our ministry began with small acts of kindness and has grown into a multi-faceted organization touching hundreds of lives.

Under the leadership of our founder, Charles Saywon, we continue to expand our reach — training disciples, empowering youth, feeding the hungry, and planting seeds of hope in every community we serve.

Rev. Charles Dayugar Saywon was born in Grand Bassa County, Liberia, to Mr. and Mrs. Saywon. From an early age, God had a divine purpose for his life. In 1978, he relocated to Monrovia to pursue his education, where he began his elementary studies at the William V. S. Tubman (William Bean) Institute on Duport Road. He later attended Nathan E. Gibson Memorial Academy for his secondary education.

When the Liberian civil war erupted in 1989, Rev. Saywon returned to Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, where he continued his education in safety. He graduated from Liberia Christian High School in Buchanan in 1997.

Recognizing God's call upon his life, Rev. Saywon enrolled at Wesleyan College of Liberia, where he earned a Bachelor of Theology degree in 2002. That same year, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Rinna Harris Saywon, marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership in ministry.

Following his graduation, Rev. Saywon received his first pastoral assignment to Buchanan City, where he served as a church planter and Zone Coordinator for Grand Bassa County. Through God's grace and faithful leadership, he successfully established the Buchanan Wesleyan Church and founded the Buchanan Wesleyan Institute (BWI), both of which continue to impact lives through the Gospel and Christian education.

After faithfully serving in Buchanan for approximately ten years, God opened another chapter in his ministry. In 2013, Rev. Saywon and his family relocated to Nigeria to further his theological education at the prestigious West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS). In 2015, he graduated with a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, with an emphasis in the New Testament.

Upon returning to Liberia, Rev. Saywon was appointed Associate Pastor of the Gardnersville Wesleyan Church, where he served faithfully for three years before being transferred to the Paynesville Wesleyan Church to continue his pastoral ministry.

His unwavering commitment to God, sound biblical leadership, and servant-hearted ministry led to his election as National Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church of Liberia in 2023. In recognition of his exemplary leadership and continued service, he was overwhelmingly re-elected to the office in 2026.

Rev. Saywon's ministry extends far beyond Liberia. He has represented both his denomination and country in numerous international conferences, leadership summits, and ministry engagements across Africa, including South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria. He has also traveled to the United States of America to participate in international church conferences and meetings of the International Board of The Wesleyan Church.

Today, Rev. Charles Dayugar Saywon serves as Africa's representative on the International Board of The Wesleyan Church, contributing to the advancement of the global mission of the church while providing strategic leadership for ministry across the African continent.

In addition to his denominational responsibilities, Rev. Saywon is the Founder and Executive Director of Christians In Action Ministries, a Christ-centered nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives and communities through evangelism, discipleship, compassionate outreach, humanitarian service, youth empowerment, leadership development, and community transformation.

Rev. Saywon is joyfully married to his beloved wife, Mrs. Rinna Harris Saywon, and together they are blessed with two wonderful daughters, Jeanette Saywon and Charlesetta Saywon. Beyond his immediate family, he has mentored and discipled countless spiritual sons and daughters in Liberia and around the world, many of whom continue to serve faithfully in ministry and leadership.

Known for his humility, visionary leadership, unwavering faith, and passion for advancing the Kingdom of God, Rev. Charles Dayugar Saywon continues to inspire believers to live out their faith through practical service, biblical discipleship, and compassionate action. His life remains a testimony to God's faithfulness and the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today, he faithfully serves as the Senior Pastor of Stockton Creek Wesleyan Church, the National Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church of Liberia, the Africa Representative on the International Board of The Wesleyan Church, and the Founder and Executive Director of Christians In Action Ministries, continuing to lead with excellence, integrity, and a deep commitment to making Christ known throughout Liberia, Africa, and the world.
